Why study Equine at Hartpury?

As part of the world’s largest equestrian college, our equine students do so much more than study an academic course.

Hartpury’s world class equine facilities are used not only for formal learning but also for work experience, including at our own commercial Equine Therapy Centre and in our events department, supporting our international showpiece events and other high quality competitions, with the chance to work with some of the stars of the equine world. Many students also complete work placements out in industry, including at top yards and riding centres and in marketing and commercial roles.

And, as an equine student at Hartpury, you will be taught by a highly qualified equine team with both competitive and industry experience, including BHS instructors, competitive riders and judges.

You’ll also have the opportunity to study for BHS exams, compete in college competitions, go on study trips, attend guest lectures and presentations and you could apply to be part of our unique Grooms’ Academy.

And whether you choose to bring your own horse to Hartpury or not, there are plenty of opportunities to ride, including with Hartpury Equestrian Club and our Riding School.
