Level 3 Extended Diploma Sport and Outdoor Activities

If you want a career in the outdoor and adventure industry then this Diploma will give you a detailed knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Outdoor Adventure, complemented by industry-recognised qualifications and practical experience of the industry.

The course provides a variety of practical activities including:

  • A water sports day where you’ll work towards National Governing Body awards in either sailing or canoeing
  • Climbing or hillwalking, again working towards vocational qualifications

You will have access to the excellent outdoor adventure centres based within the local area, enabling you to immediately put into practice what you have learnt in the classroom.

Industry experience

Work placements during your course will enable you to:

  • Acquire first-hand experience of the industry
  • Explore a career that is of interest to you
  • Gain valuable contacts and often secure placement jobs with their placement provider

In your first year, you will complete a week’s work experience whilst in your second year, you will undertake a full term of work experience using a variety of outdoor providers in the UK, France, and Spain.

Throughout the course you will also benefit from industry speakers in lecturers and field trips to strengthen your learning.
