Apply for financial support

You can apply for Hartpury finance packages from 1 April in the same year you're joining us. You'll find the forms below to download.

Financial support funds are available to students from low-income families. Accommodation Bursary is available to students wishing to stay in college accommodation. You may be eligible to have your accommodation costs paid in full, or just partly covered. This will depend on your household income.

Who can apply?

• Students must be from the UK and under the age of 25 years at the start of the course.

• Students will be studying Further Education courses at Hartpury College in Agriculture, Animal, Equine and related subjects.

• Students should be from households where total income is in the order of up to £33,000 per annum.

• Students are required to be participating (or interested in participating) in sporting activities.

From September 2026, free school meals in England will expand to cover all pupils from households receiving Universal Credit, regardless of income.

The temporary “transitional protection” that allowed families to keep free school meals despite rising income will end by the start of the 2026/27 academic year.

Three Counties Agricultural Society Bursary in Memory of Joe Henson MBE supports those within the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire venturing into further education in agriculture or related subjects. The bursary supports up to three years of study, with up to £1,000 per annum provided each year.

Welsh Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

If you live in Wales, you may be eligible for EMA for the academic year 2026/27.

The Welsh government is increasing the household income thresholds for EMA for 2026/27 to:

  • £24,570 if the student is the only child in the household.
  • £27,273 if there is at least one other dependent child eligible for Child Benefit in the household.

UK students under 19 years of age:
Tuition is free of charge for the duration of a full-time course, if you’re
a UK student under the age of 19 on the 31 August of the academic year your course starts. This includes registration and examination fees for your main qualifications.

UK student 19 years of age and over on 31 August:
If you are aged 19 or over and want to study A-levels, an Access to
Higher Education Diploma, or a level 3 or 4 qualification, you may be
required to pay for the cost of your course. This includes tuition and
examination fees. Please get in touch for further information.

Alternatively, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. Your eligibility isn’t dependent on income and there are no credit checks. Check your eligibility.

Channel Islands and Isle of Man (Crown Dependencies)

Provided that you meet eligibility requirements, there's no charge for tuition fees for qualifications that make up your study programme.

British Overseas Territories

Provided that you meet eligibility requirements and you're a resident of one of the below British Overseas Territories, there's no charge for tuition fees for qualifications that make up your study programme.

  • Anguilla, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, Ducie and Oeno Islands, Henderson Island, South Georgia and the South Sandwich, Saint Helena and its Dependencies or Turks and Caicos Islands.

Fees apply for international students studying at Hartpury College and are charged per year. Hartpury College also offers an all-inclusive fee packages for our international students which enables you to pay the bulk of the ‘extras’ in advance so you have less to organise!

Hartpury Sports Academy Membership 2025/26

Sports Academy membership is split into two performance-based tiers, giving you access to the right level of support and services for your sport and performance goals.

Additional fees apply for Golf and Rowing due to higher programme costs. Please note activities delivered through Hartpury Active in partnership with the student union, are outside of this membership structure.

  • All Sports Academy athletes pay a £250 joining fee at the start of the academic year.
  • Once squad selections are confirmed, you’ll be assigned to a tier as determined by our Sport Managers and charged the remaining balance in January.
