Doing your own research and seeking a range of advice is the best way to ensure you have a positive university experience and graduate with a degree to be proud of, ready to hit the ground running in your chosen career.

Our teams are ready to support you find the right Hartpury course. If you’re considering your options or didn't get the results you expected, we may have options and alternatives that help you get to where you want to be.

What is Clearing?

Open from 5 July 2025, Clearing is how you can apply to study one of our available courses in the summer. The process matches up students looking to start university in September 2025 with institutions and courses that have places available.

You can apply for a course through Clearing if you;

  • haven’t applied for university but would like to start in September 2025
  • don’t achieve expected grades and your offers have not been confirmed
  • have an offer but have decided that you'd like to apply for a different course or university
  • received better results than anticipated

 

I may require learning support at Hartpury; will this be available?

Our learning support team are available to support students at Hartpury during their studies. If you’d like to have a chat about your individual circumstances, just let us know and we’ll arrange a call.

Can I apply for a postgraduate course through Clearing?

We’re still accepting applications for our Postgraduate programmes, please apply on our website. You can find our Postgraduate course information here.

I haven’t applied for university yet, is it too late?

It’s not too late to apply. Please contact our admissions team. They'll speak with you about the courses you're interested in and guide you through the process of applying via Clearing.

I’m an international student; can I apply through Clearing?

We welcome applications from international students through Clearing. Please call our admissions and international team on  +44 (0) 1452 702 344 to discuss your application and talk more about applying to Hartpury as an international applicant.

Can I visit Hartpury before I decide whether to apply?

Yes. Our campus tours and events give you the opportunity to see what we have to offer. We believe experiencing our campus in person is important, if you're able to visit us before you make your final decision.

You'll see our world-class facilities and get to speak with our academic, admissions and support staff, as well as current students for insights into life at Hartpury. Book a visit below.

I’ve applied and have an offer with another university, can I change my course or university?

If you have an offer from another university, but you’ve changed your mind, we’d be happy to discuss an application through Clearing. Please get in touch with our admissions team who can advise you on next steps.

I have a conditional offer from Hartpury, should I send you my results when I receive them?

If you've accepted a conditional offer from Hartpury and are waiting for results, we normally receive them from the awarding bodies through UCAS either before they're published or shortly afterwards.
If we don’t expect to receive your results through UCAS we'll request a copy of your results from you when you receive them.

 

What happens when you get my results?

If you achieve the grades required in your conditional offer, then we'll have your place confirmed and will send you an acceptance letter by email. You'll also see the status of your application on UCAS Hub.

If you've not quite met the required grades, our admissions team will review your application and if there are places still available and we believe you've shown sufficient academic potential, your place may be confirmed.

If we're concerned, we'll contact you when the results are published and have a chat about options. If you're worried, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

I’ve received an offer through Clearing, what happens next, and do I need to do anything on UCAS?

Once we’ve made you a Clearing offer, you’ll need to add Hartpury University as a Clearing choice on your UCAS application. If you’re holding an offer at another university, you’ll need to decline your place before you can do that. We’ll send you an email with more information after we make the offer.

 

I can’t release myself into Clearing, what should I do?

Please contact the UCAS helpline on +44 (0) 371 468 0468 who will be able to assist you.

 

Can I still apply for accommodation at Hartpury if I apply through Clearing?

If you accept an offer from us through Clearing, you can still apply for Hartpury accommodation.

We guarantee Hartpury accommodation for all first-year undergraduate students. Please contact our accommodation team on +44 (0) 1452 702 352 or at accommodation@hartpury.ac.uk for more information.

What happens after I receive my Clearing offer and how do I find out more about enrolment?

We'll send you a confirmation email and lots of useful information on next steps (finance, accommodation etc). Don’t forget, we'll need to see copies of your level 3 certificates before enrolment, so please have them ready!

If I don’t get accepted on my course, will there be any alternative courses I can study?

If we're concerned about confirming your place, we'll consider whether there’s an alternative course or pathway that we can offer you instead. Before we make any changes to your offer, we'll always try to contact you so that we can discuss your options and make sure it’s the right pathway to get you to where you want to go.
