Our degrees explained

Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) or Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons)

The most popular undergraduate qualifications. Usually pursued after A-levels, diplomas or international equivalent qualifications.

Bachelor’s degrees come in science (BSc) or arts (BA) subjects. They're perfect if you’re keen to develop more specialist knowledge in a particular subject while gaining skills and experience ready for your dream career.

Our degrees come with Honours (Hons). Although ‘Honours’ isn’t a grade, it is a mark of quality. It will help your job application stand out to an employer or your application for postgraduate study.

Foundation year

A foundation year is ideal if you need to develop subject-specific skills or a qualification ready for degree-level study. On successful completion you'll progress onto the first year of your degree, alongside other first-year students.

Foundation degree (FdSc)

A foundation degree will support you to enter the vocational part of your industry. At the end of the foundation degree, you should be ready to enter employment or progress onto a one-year level 6 top-up qualification to achieve a full BSc (Hons) degree.

If you have a HND, foundation degree, or equivalent, including industry experience, our top-up degrees allow you to achieve a full BSc (Hons) degree in just one year.

Integrated Master's (MSci) degree

An MSci is an exciting qualification, combining undergraduate and postgraduate-level study in one.

You’ll study your full BSc (Hons) degree, with an extra year of study enabling you to pursue your subject in more detail and develop advanced research skills. It

All of our degrees offer the option to gain extra hands-on experience through a one-year placement in industry. It's a great opportunity to develop your practical skills in a real-world setting and will help you stand out to employers when applying for your dream job.

Access to Higher Education (HE)

If you'd like to study for a degree but don't have the qualifications you need, then an Access to HE Diploma could be for you.

Similar to A-levels, Access to HE diplomas are full level 3 qualifications. Choose from Access to HE qualifications in Sports Science, Animal Science and Welfare, Agriculture and Equine.

Our skills-based courses and apprenticeships in the land-based, animal and equine sectors are designed to meet the needs of local employers and provide additional qualifications to boost the skills, CVs and earning potential of our students.

Our courses cover everything from competency training through to regulatory qualifications, such as tractor driving, chainsaw maintenance and dog grooming.
