English Language Requirements

To study at Hartpury, you must demonstrate that your English language ability meets the requirements for university-level study. We accept a number of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) for entry onto our degree courses, with IELTS being the most common.

2025-26 Postgraduate Country Scholarship

We are offering scholarships of £5000 to postgraduate students from Sri Lanka joining us in September 2025 and January 2026. The scholarship will be automatically awarded once your application is approved and paid in the form of a tuition fee discount. This award is for international fee-paying students that meet the following eligibility criteria:

• You must be an Sri Lankan national, permanently resident in Sri Lanka
• Applicants who are in receipt of any other Hartpury scholarship, bursary, funding or discount will not be eligible for this scholarship
• This scholarship will be awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount. No cash alternative is available
• If you are awarded a scholarship and wish to defer your entry to the University your scholarship will not be transferred; however you will be eligible to apply for scholarships applicable for the next academic year
• You must be confirmed as an international student for fee paying purposes (this information is contained in your offer letter)
• If you are in receipt of scholarship funding (consisting of either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external body who will be invoiced directly by the University for fees (such as Government, charity or a private organisation), you are not eligible for this Scholarship
• This award is only available for postgraduate taught students i.e. MA/MSc/MRes who are studying full-time at Hartpury University for at least a full academic year. If you withdraw within your first year, your International Scholarship will be retracted and you will be expected to pay the international tuition fee dependant on the duration you have studied as detailed in Hartpury’s tuition fee policy
