Master's Studentships (MSc or MRes)

Generating Equine Welfare Statements for use in Sport Horse Breeding

This proposed study will focus on systematic reviews of existing research and relevant grey literature (non-scientific industry sources) to inform an evidence-based approach to outlining key areas that will underpin sport horse breeding practices aligned to the five domains outlined in Mellor’s 2020 Five Domains model, with the aim of producing ‘white papers’ to contribute to a WBFSH welfare policy document.

The concept for this studentship arises directly from industry. The project will be supported by Hartpury’s partner, the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses.

The application deadline for this opportunity is 28 September 2023. Please download an application form for other key dates and information.
