Dr. Carol Gray, Principal Lecturer, Department of Veterinary Nursing, has extensive experience teaching veterinary and veterinary nursing students. She has been a partner in a small animal veterinary practice and worked in both private and charity veterinary clinics. For several years she was programme director of the BVSc veterinary degree at the University of Liverpool and a lecturer in veterinary professional skills, and she is a Fellow of Advance HE.
Her research interests include professional ethics, particularly informed consent to treatment and shared decision-making regarding animal patients, particularly at end-of-life. She is co-founder of the Veterinary Humanities Network, a member of the RCVS Ethics Review Panel and a trustee and consultant vet with the charity North West England Springer Spaniel Rescue.
