Michela Panzica

Michela is an international student who moved from Canada to the UK to study BSc Sport Performance Top Up (Level 6).

“The prospect of gaining my degree in just one year at Hartpury, instead of two years in Canada, meant I could save the cost of two years of study, whilst still getting the same level of schooling. I was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship, which helped me fund my studies as well as my OSAP. I really liked the details on this course and how refined it is compared to others I explored. It wasn’t easy settling into academic life in the UK, where the teaching methods vary from those in Canada, but it offered a depth of learning experience. It’s one of my biggest achievements that I’m maintaining my grades and standards, having been an honours student back home.

My arrival was seamless, with meetings with the international team and students, allowing me to make friends right away. The lecturers are one of my favourite parts of Hartpury – they’re all intelligent and well-versed in the programmes they teach. It’s nice to learn from professionals who have gone through it all, especially from guest lecturers, which I love, as they provide opportunities to hear different stories.

You get to explore outside your country, learn about different cultures and make friends from all over the world. You also get to land on your own two feet, allowing you to learn how you are as an individual, how to adapt and start your own life, as well as valuable education and life skills.”
