Over 200 international athletes have developed their talents with us over the past 10 years. You could be our next success story. We're a semi-professional sports environment offering world-class facilities and professional coaching and support services.
If you’re playing sport competitively, or you have the talent and drive to do so, you may want to join one of our Sports Academies. We’ll nurture your talent and support you to achieve excellence in your sporting area and your academic studies. You’ll benefit from expert coaching, specialist training that fits around your studies, and links to national sports clubs and organisations.

Staff and facilities
Our Sports Academy staff are among the best in their respective fields. They have competed or worked at professional levels and continue to uphold their standards through strong links with their national governing bodies. From Olympic Gold equestrian athletes to professional footballers and GB rowing coaches, you can be confident that you'll learn from some of the best at Hartpury.
You’ll have access to world-class sports technology in our brand new Sports Academy building. Perfect your performance or rehabilitate student athletes using our anti-gravity treadmill, altitude chamber, bespoke biomechanics lab complete with force plates, high-tech motion capture cameras and high-resolution digital mirrors for body mapping.
Our double sports hall is kitted out with cameras, great for post-match analysis.

Recreational sport and activities at Hartpury
Sport at Hartpury can be just for fun too! You don’t have to be playing at the highest level or have aspirations to make our senior squads to play sport and get active.
There’s rugby and football at recreational level as well as opportunities to play golf, netball, badminton, basketball, hockey, volleyball and many more!
All students benefit from our exceptional sports facilities and we offer a packed programme of fitness and fun activities to help boost our students’ wellbeing too!
Our Clean Sport commitment
We have the highest level of UK Anti-doping accreditation.
We expect all of our athletes – elite and recreational – to play, train and compete in line with the spirit of sport, including the anti-doping rules.
After a year-long action plan that included a variety of workshops, courses and training advice to help raise awareness among the college’s elite athletes, students and staff, Hartpury now has the top level of accreditation provided by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD).
Our coaches and staff will not condone, assist or in any way support the use of prohibited substances and methods.
Workshops educate athletes, coaches and other academic and support staff, to ensure they understand the risks of doping and their responsibility towards clean sport, as well as signposting where they can go for more support and advice.
Students and staff are also encouraged to sign up for UKAD’s free online advisors course and some coaches and staff are also trained as anti-doping educators. Posters and hoardings setting out Hartpury’s clean sport commitment are visible across the campus.
Anti-doping education is now being woven into all academic courses, support services and the activities and recreational programme that are offered to all students.
