Hartpury University FC

In 2020, Hartpury launched its first-ever non-League football club side, aimed at providing students with further opportunities to become professional footballers.

The squad comprises players aged 16 and upwards from the academies at Hartpury College and Hartpury University.

In 2022, the team was crowned champions of the Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division, winning promotion to Hellenic League One. In the same season, the team also lifted the Herefordshire County Cup.

Our newest sports development is packed full of the very latest facilities.

You’ll benefit from a double sports hall with performance analysis cameras, a rehabilitation suite, human performance and biomechanics laboratories, therapy suites, a performance analysis suite, assessment and testing laboratory, an altitude chamber with an anti-gravity treadmill, together with power, cross-training and performance gyms.

You’ll also use our ultra-modern football 3G pitch, four football grass pitches, and high-quality training and conditioning facilities.

BSc (Hons) Sports Studies graduate, Scott Mason has gone on to roles with the FA, West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool and Rangers. He now works as 1st Team Lead Performance Analyst at Aston Villa.

Success Story

Abdul Majeed Waris

Hartpury made its debut at the FIFA World Cup when former student Abdul Majeed Waris started for Ghana against Portugal in the 2014 tournament. The striker was instrumental in his country’s World Cup campaign as he scored three goals in four qualification games to help take the Black Stars to the finals in Brazil.

Our successful graduates also include fellow Ghana international David Accam, and Mustapha Bundu who played for Sierra Leone in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
