BSc (Hons) Physical Education and School Sport

George Miller

George studied BSc (Hons) Physical Education and School Sport at Hartpury and undertook a work placement within a secondary school.

"After I was released by Accrington Stanley, I was facing the prospect of coming out of the bubble of professional football. I decided to commit to my degree course at Hartpury University and I haven’t looked back. I’ve already been at Millbrook Academy getting teaching experience, which gives me the chance to put everything I learn in the classroom into practice. I’ve been responsible for planning and delivering high quality PE and extra-curricular activities across all key stages and I’ll be doing even more placement hours there in my second year.

I’d like to get back into professional football while achieving a first-class honours degree, but I’ve learned that you never know what’s around the corner! I see myself teaching PE, ideally in a secondary school, which would mean going on to do my PGCE. Hopefully, I can become a role model like my PE teachers became to me."
