Being here allowed me to combine university study and top-level riding, letting me continue my development as a top level rider and gain a valuable education.
I completed my PhD in rider fitness and the physiological demands eventing places on the rider. With the results from my research I developed ‘EventFit’, a 30-day, 40-exercise challenge that doesn’t require any equipment and is available worldwide with an online forum for questions, support and encouragement.
Having my own horse at Hartpury meant I could combine my studies with my love of horses and competing, as well as benefiting from the use of Hartpury’s world-class facilities.
“Hartpury has not only equipped me with knowledge but also instilled life skills that will support me in making significant career moves. I moved from Poland to Hartpury for my undergraduate degree and I have now begun my master’s degree."
"Being at Hartpury helped me get my foot in the door of an international company, helped me gain the tools to succeed, and taught me that I deserve to have a seat at the table."
Be prepared to say yes to every opportunity and take that leap because you don't know which life-changing thing you could miss out on.
Hartpury provides a variety you wouldn't typically expect, from studying the equine structure and dissecting parts of a horse to learning about accounting.

The opportunity and leverage of having renowned researchers at your disposal is great. Even if research isn't all you’re interested in, you can pick the brains of people with mutual interests right at your fingertips.
Hartpury gives you the opportunities, facilities and encouragement to fuel your career ambitions, and provides outstanding guidance through lecturers and support teams.
My lecturers encouraged me to get as much experience as possible and were always on hand to give advice. I worked in the Equine Therapy Centre on campus as well as helping with the business-side of things at the Hartpury arena. It was a huge part of me being able to get a job once I graduated.
I loved my lectures and lecturers, you were always engaged, I don't think there was a point where I wasn't interested in what they had to say.
Within the equine industry, Hartpury University is renowned for its fantastic facilities, including the Equine Therapy Centre and is one of the largest equestrian centres in the world, providing a top class education. I knew that when applying for jobs, a degree from Hartpury University would be viewed with high regard.
I had a whole new world opened up to me at Hartpury. I started as a shy young person and graduated with the confidence and skills to go out and succeed. I had so many opportunities in so many different areas – achieving industry qualifications, helping on the yard, volunteering at equestrian events, training and competing, getting involved with professional demos, and keeping fit in the gyms.
The Equine academy allowed me to train full-time alongside my degree. I had training from excellent coaches, strength and conditioning gym classes, worked with a nutritionist and psychologist, and received support planning for competitions. Hartpury also supported me to take my British Horse Society exams.
