Victoria’s Hartpury Experience

“Hartpury gives you the opportunities, facilities and encouragement to fuel your career ambitions, and provides outstanding guidance through lecturers and support teams. If you need any extra help, there's so many different facilities that are there to help support you. Lecturers are brilliant and always willing to go through parts that you didn't quite understand, and the facilities are fabulous. I chose Equine Science because of my passion for anatomy and physiology. Our dissection and practical lessons were fascinating, it was interesting to learn about the horse as an athlete.”

Developing Industry Connections

“During my studies, I volunteered in the Equine Therapy Centre on site and also worked at nearby Tweenhills Stud. Now I’m completing my placement year with Kubler Racing. All three have helped me gain a wealth of knowledge and industry experience. I have had so many different roles on my placement year, looking into research, collecting data, analysing success rates; I feel like my writing has improved massively as well as my riding skills. I have made further connections while working at Kubler Racing through being introduced to many people within the racing industry during the Tattersalls sales and owners visiting the yard regularly. When I graduate from Hartpury I eventually would like to pursue a masters, but I think I’ll focus on a career for a couple of years first.”
