I had such a strong support network. It was the flexibility of people that don’t have to, but are willing to go out of their way for your benefit, that was the best thing about Hartpury for me. You feel like they actually care, which is such a rare thing. It helped me to grow as a person, as well as a student.
Seeing Hartpury, it was clear to me that the facilities are second to none. I was immediately sold after speaking to the programme leader and working with Hartpury University FC. I haven't looked back.
Hartpury’s reputation in elite sport may feel intimidating to prospective students, but if you’ve got a dream and know what you want, Hartpury will give you all the support you need.
When you come to Hartpury, it's not just about football. It's about stepping into a family where people accept you, regardless of your differences.
Hartpury supported my ability to disseminate scientific literature and provided opportunities for the practical application of my learning and my experience with the triathlete and rugby league U18s club.
The academic staff and support teams at Hartpury are excellent, and the support I’ve received here is unlike any I’ve received anywhere else.
“I think I've created who I am through Hartpury, and I've been very lucky to be guided by amazing people. I'm not from a professional rugby-playing background, I just think it's about identifying and creating “you”. These are the opportunities Hartpury have given me.”
A key thing about Hartpury is the community it creates for like-minded people; the people you study and hang out with are affiliated with sports in some way or another, and you get to meet people from all over the world who have gone on to do successful things.
Hartpury lecturers worked tirelessly to help me make the most of my course. Thanks to their support, I had the opportunity to deliver nutritional workshops to the England Walking Football teams and led another for the Gloucester County Cricket Club youth team.
The lecturers are one of my favourite parts of Hartpury – they’re all intelligent and well-versed in the programmes they teach. It’s nice to learn from professionals who have gone through it all, especially from guest lecturers, which I love, as they provide opportunities to hear different stories.
Lecturers have been instrumental in helping me balance my studies and develop in rugby, especially with a busy timetable. Their support ensures I can continue to play at a high level while gaining excellent placements and training.
I set up my business in 2018 and enjoying every minute thanks to the support and encouragement I received from my tutors at Hartpury. From studying at Hartpury to attending Hartpury events with the business, I have had a full-circle experience, it’s a great feeling.
The lecturers are passionate about their subjects and helping people. It's like being coached rather than taught, because of the specialist skillset and real experiences they have.
