The foundation year was taught at a great pace, engaging and offered me a lot of opportunities. It improved my organisation, writing, study and reading skills as well as giving me the encouragement to ask for help when needed.
Ben studies BSc (Hons) Strength and Conditioning at Hartpury and is currently on his placement year, working as a coach for U16s and U18s at Gloucester Rugby.
Jayne moved from Canada to pursue her dream of coaching at Hartpury University, for the prospect of playing Premiership Women’s Rugby, and to study a Master’s in Sports Coaching. Alongside her studies, Jayne coaches the Women’s Rugby 2’s squad and students at Wycliffe College.
I had such a strong support network. It was the flexibility of people that don’t have to, but are willing to go out of their way for your benefit, that was the best thing about Hartpury for me. You feel like they actually care, which is such a rare thing. It helped me to grow as a person, as well as a student.

Hartpury supported my ability to disseminate scientific literature and provided opportunities for the practical application of my learning and my experience with the triathlete and rugby league U18s club.

A key thing about Hartpury is the community it creates for like-minded people; the people you study and hang out with are affiliated with sports in some way or another, and you get to meet people from all over the world who have gone on to do successful things.
Hartpury lecturers worked tirelessly to help me make the most of my course. Thanks to their support, I had the opportunity to deliver nutritional workshops to the England Walking Football teams and led another for the Gloucester County Cricket Club youth team.
I set up my business in 2018 and enjoying every minute thanks to the support and encouragement I received from my tutors at Hartpury. From studying at Hartpury to attending Hartpury events with the business, I have had a full-circle experience, it’s a great feeling.
The lecturers are passionate about their subjects and helping people. It's like being coached rather than taught, because of the specialist skillset and real experiences they have.
When I visited, I could see that it had everything I needed to be the best both on and off the pitch and that has definitely been the case. I also realised that you’re not just a number at Hartpury University– the lecturers know you by person and that was a big plus for me.
